Stinky the Skunk and I are in agreement: last week’s Smokefree training at Portneuf Medical Center was outstanding! Representatives from Americans for Nonsmokers Rights put on a highly informative and entertaining training. We performed skits demonstratring the dos and don’ts of talking to city council representatives, which our volunteers were able to rate and critique. Needless to say, we are all keeping our day jobs. After skits, volunteers powermapped (brainstorming with serious organization) ideas on possible ways to approach city council members.

Stinky the Skunk appeared just in time for photos and was a hit with the volunteers. I think he’s on the phone right now with his agent. Something about Pixar and Spielberg…

Volunteers ranged from hospital staff, ISU respiratory therapy students and a representative from Southeastern Idaho Public Health. Smokefree Idaho couldn’t have asked for a better group. Everyone enthusiastically joined in discussions and shared fantastic ideas.

Thank you for all who attended.  Be sure to spread the word for next time!
