Smoking is everyone’s problem.
Every Idaho taxpayer’s burden from smoking caused expenses is $714 PER YEAR in government expenditures.

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke, and the only effective protection is to completely eliminate indoor smoking. Even brief exposure can be harmful to health.

Secondhand smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals, including 69 cancercausing poisons and 250 known toxins.

Health risks from secondhand exposure include lung cancer, heart disease and stroke and, among children, SIDS, more severe childhood asthma and chronic ear infections. Secondhand smoke kills about 200 Idahoans each year — more than alcohol related traffic accidents and murder combined.
