The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is accepting resumes from individuals interested in partnering with us to promote smokefree work environments as part of the Smokefree Idaho coalition campaign.

This independent contractor position is responsible for grassroots capacity building in Pocatello and surrounding communities. The project goals are aligned with the coalition’s mission of promoting smokefree work environments recognizing that “everyone has the right to breathe clean air.”

The responsibilities include:
• Organizing a strong and visible coalition of bar staff and proprietors
• Organizing volunteer trainings to establish a strong base of support
• Providing regular communication to volunteers and partner organizations
• Providing monthly progress reports
• Identifying and engaging volunteers and partner organizations to ensure sustained improvement
• Implementing the coalition’s comprehensive media plan

This project is based on the terms and conditions of an independent contractor arrangement. The term is expected to be from December 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. Based on the scope of work, compensation is budgeted at up to $2,000/month and additional reimbursement for approved travel expenses. The Independent Contractor is responsible for providing all necessary equipment and insurance.
